Cantonal Intervention Programmes
Together with its partners, Health Promotion Switzerland is implementing a nationwide programme and several projects to contribute to a health body weight. We also support projects, initiatives and events in the field of nutrition and physical activities.
Cantonal Intervention Programmes
In 2007, Health Promotion Switzerland together with seven cantons started to develop Cantonal Intervention Programmes aimed at health promotion and primary prevention of overweight and obesity in children and adults. By 2010, Health Promotion Switzerland had successfully expanded its cooperation to 22 out of 26 cantons. The programmes involve long-term cooperation in four areas, accompanied by a long-term monitoring/evaluation programme (see Basics and Knowledge). The four areas are:

- modules for age-specific interventions for children, young people and their peers, families, school environment, etc.
- policy affecting living conditions
- networking at the interdepartmental level/between cantonal agencies, cantons and communes or cantons and expert organizations
- media relations/campaigns
- Vitalina – a health promotion project for non-native-speaker parents of preschool children
- Coop Gemeinde Duell – a competition for the most active communes (villages, towns)
- SlowUp– 15 nationwide biking, skating and walking events, with about 500'000 participants
- Walking Events such as www.swisswalking.ch
